Happy Easter 2012

We spent Easter this year with Mama Melody and Papa.  Before we left for their house, Pher, Nealie and I had a day packed to the brim while we waited for Mike to get home from working half the day.  First we went to Goldsboro Pediatrics!! Whoo hoo!!! Pher had been coughing and coughing and it had moved into his chest.  It was a good idea that we went because they gave him a Zpak AND an inhaler! Yes, an inhaler!!! I felt like a horrible mom!!!  After all that fun...we went to breakfast at Hardees and then the mall.  Pher likes to shop most of the time.  It is so neat to watch him grow up and create his "style."  Loves!!

We made our way to Mama and Papa's.  Saturday was a fun filled day with the boys doing some sports shopping, lawnmower "window" shopping, and taking Papa for a ride in the VW convertible!!! Yes, Mike Jr. drove Mike Sr. and Pher to Lowe's in the VW Bug with the top down!!! Everyone had on the same color shirt...and they got loads of looks!!! Can you imagine why they piled out of the car before I could get my camera out??!! They sure were cute though!!!

We grilled out for dinner.  After much discussion on who should go get ice for Easter lunch, Mama, Kelly and I decided we would go to the church to get some before we served dessert.  Off we go, taking a little tour of downtown Gibsonville on the way.  Right past a new ice cream shop 6 Scoops!  Now, I found out that Kelly LOVES ice cream.  We decided to just run in real quick, get a little taste then head home.  The place was packed when we got inside so we determined we should just get it to go and eat on the way.  As the server finished with the customers in front of us, he asked if he could take a picture before he helped us because the place had never been this full! We all 3 said "NOOOOO!" and smashed ourselves against the wall..."We cannot be in the picture because we are not supposed to be here!!!"  He looked at us weird but took his picture then helped us to Reeses P-nut butter chocolate and butter pecan ice cream cones!!!  Off we went to get in the car. Mama drove us around to see a few houses with the instructions to let her know when we hit our cones!  Cones crunched and we headed home...did a quick mouth check...told Kelly to stay away from Josh because he would be able to smell the p-nut butter on her breath... and in we went.  Facing us were men...all wanting DESSERT!!! Ugh!!! We forgot about having to eat dessert when we got back!!!  What could we do, but eat some pie...Kelly wins the award!! She downed a piece of pie and a scoop of ice cream none the less.  Mama forced some down, but I just couldn't...I scooted upstairs to change Nealie for bed!!!! We just laughed and laughed...the men had no idea!!!

Easter Sunday we got up and went to breakfast at the church...cause that's what Papa wanted to do!  It was yummy. And eventful...as Mama was coming back to the table with her breakfast, she thought, "wow, my foot feels weird in my shoe." She realized that her strap had broken on her shoe.  But she is such an easy-going, handle-it-all-in-stride gal she was ok.  We made our way into the church, got Nealie situated in her chair and us in a back pew, ready to worship.  At the last minute, an elderly lady put her walker next to Nealie.  Now, that would have been fine, but there was an adorable little bell attached to it with a red ribbon.  To have such a wonderful object nearby and not play with it just isn't what Nealie is all about!!! It took her a while to get her hands on it, but you know when she did it was right in the middle of the morning prayer!!! Nice!!!  Once found, gonna play! So, we moved Nealie onto the pew with us...where she tickled the man on the pew in front us and tapped on the window behind us!!! Whew...she was in constant motion!  It was a great sermon, but I have to say I was glad when it was over and the wrestling could stop!  The best part of all, thought was when I looked at Mama and she was carrying her shoes in her arms!! Seems that both straps had broken on one shoe, so she just took them off and went barefoot! That's what I love about her...so classy, but down to earth too!!!!

Back at the house...Aunt Betty joined us for lunch and fun times.  Uncle Josh and Kelly joined us again!  We had a blast sitting around in the front yard...just being together.  Here's what we do best!

Oh...remember that little secret ice cream date us girls had? Well, Mama left the receipt on the counter for some crazy reason.  And, Josh picked it up during lunch for some crazy reason and READ IT OUT LOUD!!! As he was reading it, Kelly leaned way back in her chair to catch my eye!  She had a weird look on her face and when I saw her I just busted out laughing!!! WE WERE CAUGHT!!!!  Boy did those guys joke us about eating so much and being sneaky!!! Kelly and I are gonna have to work on Mama's sneakin' skills before future trips!!!
